I found some shells on the beach are the safe for the crabs use?

I found both some snail shells that are the right size for them and some large shells to maybe use for a feeding dish and stuff for them to climb on. Is it safe for the crabs to use them and do I have to sanitize them first.
Two purple pinchers from the jersey shore. Ocean and Butterfly mommy will always love you.

I always boil them first.
