Yes. I've actually had them live two years under less than really good conditions. It wasn't easy. One of them had to be rescued because she got stuck in her shell. And I fell for a lot of the common lies like they are easy pets to take care of and all that jazz but they lasted like 2 or 3 years. And I hear that's long for kiosk crabs so its possible.
Animals are reliable, many full of love, true in their affections, predictable in their actions, grateful and loyal. Difficult standards for people to live up to

I have one that I rescued who was at one of those beach shops, then she was in horrible conditions (KK, fish gravel, no water at all just an old wet sponge, pellet food, etc) for several months, she escaped and was found in the bathroom (I think this is how she survived), which is when I got her. She was SO tiny! She has molted many times and has grown, she still a tiny but much happier. She is small enough that she still molts every two weeks or so for about two weeks, it is funny how hairy she gets. You would think she wouldn't have time to lose it between molts. She is not hairy in the same way as the big guys get but noticable all the same. She will have been with me for a year in September. She is happy and friendly and loves to hang out on top of the biggest crab. They are best buddies. So, yes possible.
