I leve in Arizona and it is only above 80 humidity right next to the damp sand on the bottom. So I added a personal humidifier to blow air at the crab and she favors a position right in front of the mist. But I don't know if it ever gets up to 70 at the top of the tank.As for temperature, she would prefer it at 77. She doesn't like it when it gets to 80 here. I can tell. Over 80 is not healthy, I don't think.

For your E's the temp is just right. Check your lid to see how much air flow is actually getting in to the tank. For instance does it have several spots in the lid air can get in and out. If it has quite a few you may need to block off some of theses "holes" so there isn't as much air flow. Also make sure your sub (sand or coco fiber) is moist sandcastle consistency. Check out this link to the archived library and skim through looking for humidity questions or if you have time look at all of it. There is some really good info.Archived Crabitat info

What are you currently using to keep the temp at 82?Also, what kind of lid, tank? And have you done anything already to try to increase the humidity?

Since you've upgraded to a larger tank 20gallons if I'm correct you probably got a stock lid that has gaps on the back these gaps are there to allow for the installation of filtration and aeration equipment and these gaps are likely rather large, you can do a quick fix by placing some saran wrap over the gaps on the top of the lid and duct taping it in place this should give you a better humidity retention and to address your duplicate thread yes using a UTH will help with the humidity because its an indirect kind of heat emitted from the pad it doesn't typically effect the humidity level in the tank to much if at all.I also second Geraniums question what are you currently using for your heat source?
