Escape artist!

So this morning, Hermione climbed out of her tank (how did she flip the lid?!) and was almost in the kitchen. Yikes! For now, I am weighing down the lid so it is harder to flip. I hope that this doesn't happen again, especially if it is during the daytime when no one is in the house. Is there anything else I can do?

They are very good at escaping and getting into unexpected places. Weighting down the lid is a common solution. There are also clips that sort of latch down certain lids.

She almost escaped today-again! Fortunately we are moving her to a tank where it has a higher ceiling so she cannot escape as easily. In addition to that, the lid is heavier and will be much harder to lift up for her.

I have used a heavy rock before even taped it down. Make sure they are not escaping from the back if you have cut outs from where a filter should of been. I have glass lids now, to heavy for them..even for my big boy
