Marshawn has completed his molt and now dawn is molting. i also have read that hermit crabs detect the molting evidence and start to feel the need for themselves to molt. just something i read in a crab book i got.
experience comes from this: Harvey (tarantula), flanders (cat), 2 pp hermit crabs, (marshawn pinch, and richard shermit), smallstress house hamster(hamster), baron purplemoon (fish).

Yep, one molting can trigger a mass molt. Mine usually molt in order. My largest goes first, then he comes up, then my others will start in. Just watch for the yummies, when other crabs attack the molter cause they smell like fish. If you bathe your molter it will get rid of the smell. Use their water.

I see that activity in my crabs too. But also think it's a seasonal thing.. Around maybe the fall and winter seasonsI'm also having multiple molts going on too .There's like a molt hormone that drives them into pre-molt -Gets the crab ready- Crab eats and drinks excessively, and exo starts looking dull. That means your crab is near to going down. They are very resilient .. Love how they exactly know what they are doing
