School, crabs, and a big thank you.
Some of you may remember me telling you when I first came to this forum that my daughter acquired her crab from school. Her science class studied them for awhile and after them learning what they could about the crabs the teacher purchased 4 crabs and split the class into 4 groups. We have a small school so the classes are also small (usually 18-25 kids) with about 5 or 6 kids per group. The kids finished taking their tests about them and the other work in the class and the teacher had told them the kid with the highest grade in each group could take the crab home if it was ok with the parents. I learned yesterday that sadly my daughters crab is the only one left. 2 of the crabs died shortly (a couple months) after going home with the kids and the other died about a week ago. I learned this yesterday while doing a parent/teacher conference and asked about them. I must admit the teacher did do a pretty good job teaching them about the crabs most of the info was correct and she told the kids that took them home to study even more about them cuz they just didn't have time for all the info that we have available to us here, much less the ability for questions and answers. Thanks to this site and all of you our little crabs are still going strong. PS I got the other 3 crabs afterwards from a lady that no longer wanted them, which was a good thing or they would've died she had the usual completely wrong set up.

thank you for the rescue of three innocent crab souls.
