Are these ok for hermit crabs these have no paint inside or under only painted on top the paint has no sealant the paint doesnot feel glossy are these ok

I would not. The paint chips off, the crabs eats the paint, likely bad for tham.

You want all natural shells with no paint. You can buy shells from hobby lobby in a pack and get some good ones if you have smaller crabs, even wal Mart has shells that are natural. I think in craft section or floral. Crabs can't have paint, hot glue, craft glue, that fast drying glue in their tank. The smell can either be toxic or if they eat it it can be toxic . Things need to be pretty much as their natural habitat to survive.
