gnat season/ fruit fly

I missed this post, sorry. The sticky strips would work well as Laurie says if the crabs can’t get close, but the lid i have is prime climbing territory in the tank. I don’t (can’t) stop them from climbing around, and I’m afraid they will get into the stuff. It is usually very dry here except this year and still the gnats are not too bad, mostly in the tank unfortunately. I remember seeing one fly in toward the light one night as I was feeding them, and that was that.
