HCA: Hermit Crab Association

hope this is in the right area I wasn't sure.Has anyone ordered from LHC? I've placed my first order and haven't heard a peep out of them. I know it says to give them two weeks to process order but I have seen others posting on other forums of having their crabs within four days. I ordered last Friday and I'm chomping at the bit to hear from them. I know, patience is not one of my virtures.What has your experiences with them been like?

They have an interesting selection for sure. I got my PP's here from a petshop, terrible conditions though. If I buy more I will go to Petsmart or PetCo, there they have pretty good crabitats in place. All of them only offer Purple pinchers, but I will most likely stick to them, as I know how to care for those.I hope you don't run out of patience but it might be better for the crabs - the warmer it is, the more likely it is that they make it good to you.

They don't offer live diliver garenty till May... I think. I'm going to wait and order in August.

Me too, Dylan, I waiting for the live delivery too. It's getting closer!

I am also waiting for warmer months, in the mean time I'm perfecting my hermie skills and researching different possibilities.

I ordered a strawberry in early April and was immediately charged for it, but have received just awful customer service. My e-mails are constantly unanswered. I feel like I have been scammed. Has anyone has a positive experience with this business? I'm just so frustrated..

I did a little snooping around online. I think this company is probably either extraordinarily unprofessional, or it's a scam. I got suspicious when they advertised "dry hermit crabs." It's a weird phrase and not one I would suspect anyone who knows how to safely ship hermies to use, quite frankly.Edit: Looked around a little more. Seems a bit of a gamble as to whether you'll actually get the crabs or not. Personally, I'd order from the hermit crab patch over these guys.

What an odd way to scam people tho.. I mean hermit crabs?? thats about as random as it gets. This is really annoying. I just want my strawberry! but yea the hermit crab patch rocks. For anyone trying to decide between the two, I hope this has been enlightening.

The FTC has info on web shopping, your rights and what steps to take when you've been charged for merchandise you didn't receive. In times where a turnaround time for shipping is not listed, the business has 30 days in which to ship the product they have charged for. Seems like that date has come and gone for you. Go get em'!!

I've been thinking since my last post, since I want E's I'm going with the HermitCrabPatch. Besides, I'll bet my all of my money (which isn't much) that the crabs from the HCP will have a way better chance of making it through the ISO stage, PPS and overall just be healthier, besides they take care of the crabs and make sure that they molt before even opting to sell them.

yea i just noticed that too. Last week it said theyd ship late april/early may, so I expect they're shipment got delayed. Regardless, they're customer service really sucks. They have answered one of 8 of my e-mails expressing concern about my order.. it's just ridiculous. THCP all the way!

I don't know what I want to do, regardless I want to be able to find some nice and healthy E's at a petstore.

If I ever order any offline I'm gonna place my order at THCP. Sounds like the crabs their are in really good health and would most likely have a better outcome!

HCP will have the HermitCrab section open in a few days....ya I'm excited!!! They start shipping right after Memorial day. Would like it if I can get micro sized E's so I can put them in the 10gal with Catreina and Peeta so they can have some friends that are their size. Now I need to get a job or something this summer and save up a $100(and more for my attempts next year ), I think that will cover it.... and get supplies. Water bowls, food bowls, sand, EE, Heater, another temp/humidity gauge, another 10gal(ISO), a 10gal stand, probably more shells, another lid (probably screen), toys: vines, cholla, ect.
