The vine has a flexible metal wire embedded in it which can become exposed after a period of time and me be a safety risk so if you start to notice that your crabs have picked the insulation away exposing the wire it would be prudent to remove it from the enclosure.The mopani wood is safe I have used mopani for years its a great heavy wood and has a natural rough texture to it to make it easier for the crabs to climb.
