Shell addict?
My hermit crab, Banana, is going bananas lol. I think he is addicted to his shell. He doesn't come out of his shell. Like ever. But the thing is, he is alive. He moves his legs and shifts around, but he doesn't come out. I hold him, bathe him, feed him, but still no results . The only thing that gets him out is the song "Party in the USA" by Miley Cyrus (my hermits love music, they all have fave songs). But still, that only works sometimes. what do I do?

don't bathe him any more is number one, crabs do not need to bathed ever unless they are coming from a molt and they have a bully after them or you are introducing a new crab to you tank and you want them to smell the same if you just got him he needs that iso time of hands off only feed and water him and scoop poop. he is going through a stress time. hermit crabs are all different, some get used to people right away and some are real shy forever. My crabs are different. 3 hang out , dont move when I get in the tank to do things, the other will flip on his back or take off. my crabs dont hide, they hang on the log out in the open. they know they are safe cause I dont play with them, hold them ect. I treat them like wild pets, look only no touch only to clean, i dont let people hold them, bang on the glass, ect..your crab could be stressing out
