Is this fine the hole and crack is very small I wouldnt thing there would be a problem with the moisture

Turn the shell like the crab would be wearing it if the crack/hole is at the bottom it won't hold water in the shell for long. If it is toward the side or top it would hold water but it would not be very sturdy and should the crab fall it could possibly break harming the crab. If you think the shell is still sturdy put it in but more than likely the crabs will disregard it or if they try it on will probably change into something else shortly after.

Yea, I also discard shells that have holes in the area where their abdomen is atIf there is a hole near the opening its ok

A crab is very picky about their shells. If they don't find them to their liking then they will not use them. I have about 100$ worth of shells and they will not CHANGE into any one of them!
