Fruit is definitely a food as its a main food source for most hermitcrab species in their native environments they need to have fruits in their diet for the nutritional benefits such as vitamins, anti-bacterial properties and so on.

experience comes from this: Harvey (tarantula), flanders (cat), 2 pp hermit crabs, (marshawn pinch, and richard shermit), smallstress house hamster(hamster), baron purplemoon (fish).

When giving fruit it should be organic or at least check this list and don't use any of them unless they're organic. Canned fruit is not good due to some leeching of metals into the food. Baby food is ok. safe food/pesticides

I use banana just no peel, Apple the same..very hard to get organic apples here. They will not eat organic Apple sauce.i dont blame them. Gross!! I do organic baby foods & peanut butter
