Four new babies came home with me today! Tiniest little Es. I saw them at Petco on Tuesday and in good conditions for a petstore then decided to go ahead. Poor Tink is so lonely so these little ones give her a chance to have some species friends. Photos coming...

I have 4 E’s (1 tiny is still MIA), they are so very active. They run circles around the purple pinchers. The activities include searching for a way out of the tank, and they are very methodical. I must also always look under the lids before I open it as they will go anywhere they can, top to bottom.

Little E's are like potato chips, you just can't stop at 1, 5, or 20.More than once when I've seen a tank of them I've just bought out the whole tank worth. I added I think 16 tiny E's. They really don't take up much tank space if you have a large tank. I put the 16 tiny E's in my 92g and they just completely disappeared into the woodwork.I'm not recommending buying out the whole tank of E's, just yeah they're irresistible.

LOL. Glad it's not just me! It was so hard to limit myself to 4 (more). If they all survive and the one who was attacked who has been buried in ISO for what feels like forever but is only coming up on a month survives, I will have 8. That should make Tink happy, she gets ever so lonely with Aurora, one of the three healthy ones, down to molt and only Laila to hang out with. Wish the month plus ISO was a faster process so she wouldn't have to wait. She was very interested in them, their tank walls were touching.

I started out with six three years ago and over time I've lost three due to bad molts(a very common issue with E's)but the three that are still living are doing very well.My three e's have more than tripled in size going from dime size to just a little larger than golf ball. They are definitely more active and the beefier they get the more dominant they become in the tat.Mine are big enough now that they actually push my Jumbo PP's out of the food dish when they think the PP has had enough.lolI've found that feeding Spirulnia powder, carrots and squash really help to keep their color vibrant.

Tink is the largest of my Es and she is incredibly pushy. She is fine with the larger PPs but the ones who are only slightly larger than her, she bullies to the point I had to move her into her own tank to stop the abuse. She is in with two other Es and four tiny PPs who don't even consider challenging her. The new Es will go in with her once they get through their ISO. They are eating like crazy and are not particularly scared of me after only a week in the house. Three of the four have changed out of the painted shells, hooray. I am surprised that none of them have buried yet.I have spirulina and carrots in the rotation but what kind of squash do you recommend?

When I offer squash I usually just offer it raw rinsed of course.I get it from the grocer near the fruits and veggies stands I don't offer it from a can though you could do the baby food variety I have and it works pretty well.

Do you use zucchini, yellow summer squash, acorn squash, spaghetti squash? Some other variety?

I've only ever offered the yellow squash raw and I don't know the variety in the baby food version.
