zoo med neon shells

Some where I think it was talked about things like the glow rocks having toxins, this could be one of those types. Better to all natural things when it comes to your crabs. They came from the wild and we are supposed to mimic their environment. They wouldn't find those types in the wild lol

There are two types of neon shells one are regular painted shells and the other are plastic shells that are made via injection molding and the dye it mixed in with the plastic while its in liquid state so that it is mixed all throughout the shell giving a more uniform and even coverage.Unfortunately neither one of these types of shells are suitable for hermitcrabs as the painted shells are toxic and the plastic shells are created with the central whirl that forms in real shells so the crabs literally have no place to anchor themselves into the shell which makes moving around burdensome at best.
