More artic cold air coming our way tonight, the last cold snap we had I noticed the crab tank wasn't staying warm and humid as normal. Many of you know I don't use gauges. I uses the touch of my hand. At work , the library we have foam board. It's about 1/2 inch thick so I got some of it and cut it and taped it to the card board I already had up. Covered the back and both ends just leaving the front open to view them. So far they are more active than they have been in weeks. It's warm and humid again in the tank. Our house is very drafty. I have plastic on Windows and they are new!

@Shelby If they hang out by the heater maybe your temp in the tank is to low it should be 80-85 degrees F. If its not you may need to add another heater.

It's getting cold here again too. Last time was even colder, and they ended up just fine. This cold snap is just a couple of days, back to almost 60 this weekend. Have a back up plan of blankets just in case.

Our recent low temp is not helping any of my cold-blooded pets either. Since when did a tropical Asian country start experiencing 64F?! The coldest place here even tasted a whooping 47F pretty much killing most of the inverts there haha. Some keepers of other animals have already started to complain as well as pet deaths are rising. I lost 2 scorpions yesterday due to the low temp. Omg, i hope heaters won't be necessary for next year if this happens again here haha..Stay warm guys!
