Is it salt? Evaporation can cause salt to form back into crystals. I get a crusty salt sometimes by the heater when the sub in that area has dried out too much.

It is possible to get too much salt. Water evaporates but the salt doesn't so if you continually use salt water on your sub it will start getting salt crystals. If this is the case remove what you can and only add plain water instead of salt water when moisture is needed.

@Geranium I get that salt crystals on the glass where the heater is too .. I have to wipe it down every time. Since the saltwater pool in my crabitat is at the back next to the heater. @Tony's HermitsDo you spray the substrate with saltwater? Because over time it can accumulate on the substrate and also can burn crabs after an amount of time. So don't spray saltwater I understand that by the saltwater pool, saltwater that evaporates in the sub can get salt crystals I'd just remove substrate that has any salt crystals in it

Make sure it is salt and not mold that is white. White mold tends to be in one spot where there has been food or they might have drug food and buried.
