When do you put a crab in the ISO tank? I have a guy 1" from the bottom of the tank. I have only had him 3 days. He is in the tank with 2 other crabs. Is this Pass? . Does he just need some down time? He has been eating quite a bit for the first 2 days.

I have never isoed suspected molters because its impossible to catch them at the exact right time and by the time I know they are in molt they have already burrowed down which is why its recommended to have the substrate in your main tank sand castle consistency and at least six inches deep to allow for proper molting.I've found this is the easiest and safest way for my group.

I don't ISO my molters either. I use my ISOs for new crabs before their intro to the rest and for distressed crabs and once to evacuate during a crazy long power outage.
