Want a large crab? Something to think about

If you're thinking about buying a large crab and don't have one yet I'd like to share my experience with you.In April while shopping on my birthday for hermie items, I fell for 2 large crabs in a cramped and divided 10 gallon tank. Each one was squished on one 5 gallon half with one food and water dish and a bunch of other hermies. I had a 20 gallon ISO and a 29 gallon main tank and felt that was sufficient space for my new friends. With his 3" opening shell 8-Ball was the bigger of the two. Because of his size EE deep enough to bury him sits so high in the tank he could almost climb out without stepping foot off the surface so I had to slope one side and I used a heavy storm window as a lid. Nets and climbing walls for recreational play weren't even an option. Large shells are costly and I had to buy jumbo sized water dishes for him to fit in. With them in he had even less room so I bought stuff to make a 2nd level on the low end. He used the underside as his hidey but I wasn't able to give him woods or things to climb on because of the low ceiling. I just saw this as a temporary issue while he destressed and couldn't wait to get them into the 29.Well things aren't much better in there. Ceiling's a bit higher and he likes the shower caddy but he's since upgraded to a much larger turbo and fills it out rather well so I can only surmise he's grown a whole lot since I got him, he's now jumbo. The residents there lost room when I replaced their average sized dishes with the large ones and he got stuck everywhere, uprooted woods and knocked things over. He doesn't fit in the huts and I had to remove Hermie's favorite rock hut that she likes to climb and play on because it takes up precious space and he couldn't squeeze past it. He requires two cholla sticks wrapped together to climb comfortably and he's a subterranean bulldozer. There's only 7 hermies in this tank and I fear for the buried ones.I now have a $200 72g tank and while I have tons of decor I still need heaters, a light and a lid.Just something to think about.
