Warning re: making rapid posts in the same thread

Hello everyone!Yes I am still here and still working for LHC behind the scenes. So in my position as Admin I'd like to remind everyone that Yes, you CAN edit your own posts, for a period of at least 24 hours after posting originally. What this means is, if you have recently made a post and then find that you have more you want to say in the same thread and it has only been a few minutes since your last post, you can simply type the word EDIT: and then add your additional text. Of course if somebody has posted after you already or hours have passed since your last post and you have a lot to say, by all means make another post. What I am warning against are multiple short posts made by the same person within minutes of each other. The Administrators of LHC are aware that there is a group of members who seem to be attempting to bump up their post numbers by doing rapid-fire posting of this sort. Posts done in this way will be consolidated and the excess deleted. In extreme cases (such as members ignoring repeated warnings), the member's post count will be edited to reflect the deleted material. The reason for this is so LHC can cut down the burden the site faces in terms of storage and bandwidth use to display each post. If we've got six posts going by one person, each with graphics in the avatar and signature, it takes a lot more resources to display than one post with the same material. Not to mention it is a whole lot easier to read one post than to scroll through a bunch of posts by the same person, made within an hour.LHC Admins will not change the content of the material that is consolidated, they will only consolidate the posts. If you have any questions about this, please let me and the other Admins know. Those members who think they might be "guilty parties", PLEASE do not post an apology here, it is not necessary. Just in the future use the EDIT function and cease rapid-fire posting and all will be well. As usual, long-time members probably have nothing to worry about, they are doing fine, as always. happy crabbing!ChristaLHC Owner and Administrator
