I've been keeping my little guys at my boyfriend's house because I spend most of my time there. Well I was back at my place for a couple of days and had him tend to their feeding while I was gone. I came back over to his tonight and while getting their food and water prepared I did a little invesigating to see where everyone was and noticed one of the guys was in the clay pot I have buried but was not in his shell. I was hoping that it was simply his exo but knew deep down that it wasn't. The smell was unmistakable. I gently retrieved both his lifeless body and the shell he was in and to my dismay my worst fear was true, he had died. I don't think my boyfriend detected the fishy odor. I can at least say that the last few weeks of his life were pleasant. He had a chance to live in a well kept environment with nutritious food and the opportunity to change into a better shell as well. Fortunately none of the other rascals took it upon themselves to feast on him either. I don't know what caused his demise other than PPS as there were no signs of harm done to him by the others. You will be missed Porky even though I knew you for such a short time. I'm glad I was able to care for you and give you a home.
