Hermie I and Herbie

Hermie and Herbie were my very first crabs. They were like children to me they had their own personalities. Hermie: I remember when i first got them. Hermie was rambunctious(well, as rabunctious as a hermit can be), and would literally "run" back and forth in front of his tank. The first time i took him out he pinch me right on the hand, and really clamped on. But he had tiny little claws and they didn't actually do much harm but of couse he thought he was really causing pain. i was really still and he eventually let go. That was the first and last time he evr pinched anyone. From then on we were bestest buds, you could even call us inseparable.Herbie: Herbie was Hermies opposite. He was very shy and spent most of his time in the herit hut. He never did come out on my hand but he was in LOVE with my shag carpeting.Unfortunately, after about 3 years, we went on vacation and my usual crab sitter was unavailable. So, i had to hire someone else, (my neighbor down the street). While i was away the heater broke and thes sitter never showed up. Needless to say my hermit crabs passed away due to the fact that it was winter and we try our best to conserve energy by not turning the house heater on, and the lack of humidity. It was very very sad thing to see, and smell.
