little guys, always eating together :3 wanted share a photo of several of my babies with texts of the names attached. (the other 4 are directly underneath climbing the hemp vines I made^^) One of my Ecuadorian crabs just came up from molting (Tovi). He's very vocal (just me making eye contact with him makes him go off chirping so loud), so when I came home and heard the chirping I knew he was okay, and I was so happy. He's really scared of fingers so I try not to bug him too much. Before him, I had never seen an Ecuadorian hermit crab before. When I saw him at the pet store, he was not happy, at all. I was hesitant to buy him because outside was -20 degrees (yikes) and his shell had paint. :/ But, then I watched as he pinched some dumb little kid and made him run away crying. That's my kinda crab. I picked him up and said "all right let's get heck outta here buddy." when we came home, I thought, "did I buy a hermit crab or a pig??" ^.^ he ate all food in the tank within an hour--I couldn't believe it. His new blue, orange, & pink color is gorgeous (before he was brown and yellow).

May I inquire as to what you are using on the floor of the ledge? I have one of those and always just leave it bare. Did you put a layer of sand on it? Or did the crabs? LOLBTW wonderful pic! I wish mine were as cooperative.

I went to walmart and bought a plastic shower caddy to make the second level and sheets of felt from the craft isle, which I cut to fit it, so that the sand wouldn't go through the holes. Every so often I'll wash the felt triangles to keep them fresh. :] I have a long rock wrapped in hemp to climb down to keep the leverage from swaying. they really enjoy it.

Thank you :] They're like my babies <3 They are very happy little crabs. I've seen a huge difference in behavior from the time I got them at the pet store to now. They used to be extremely irritable and terrified.
