Hello LHC, I've been researching hermit crabs for a while as I've found them rather interesting. I went out and bought all the supplies I needed. Then, two days ago I bought 3 PPs. Saw these forums so I figured maybe I could learn from all you experts. As for my pets... 3 PP hermit crabs, 3 African bullfrogs, 5 ball pythons, 1 sulcata tortoise, 1 leopard gecko, 1 mali uromastyx, 2 cats, 2 dogs, 2 oscar fish, 7 silver dollar fish, 9 serpae tetras, and 8 panda cory catfish.Just wanted to say hello and introduce myself a little. Thanks alot for allowing me to become a member.Yuromastic

Lots of information on here. Not all forums are created equal and are not up to date and you tube vids will just drive you insane because of the lack of information the person has while doing it and if you try to give them pointers they get snarky..Lol! You can find some tank ideas on here some where , food suggestions, doesn't need to be all store bought crab food, you can find things at home that are unseasoned they can eat. Better for them to and make their color brighter or richer after they molt. Dos and donts of a molter, what happens after..crab bully! Welcome! Some people say I have a dumb question. There is no dumb question because it might be one that we have never been asked before. Things are not set in stone here you take the information and make it work for you. Well the temp and humidity is given, but for me it takes 3 different sizes of heat mats on the back of my 55 gal tank to keep it right, and in the summer months I unplugged the smaller ones. For the life of me I can't keep a humidity and temp guadge they all junk out on me I buy the cheapest to the most $ made for out door that can go in the tank and in 6 months they all are junk! People on here can have them for years..I give up on them . Well it's off to shop..oh yeah, hit the baby food section look for organic beech nut if it just has what is on the front no extra struff then it's good. Mine love them.

Well, sadly out of 4 crabs I purchased 3 of them immediately molted and one died. So, I'm left with 3 bright and shiny crabs that are doing quite well. I have found a lot of good information on these forums and for that I am thankful.
