Molting or Dead?

Fantastic! Its a miracle! ISOing him for a few days might be a good idea. Also, does the pretzel have any salt on it? Iodine's not good for crabs.

Thanks for the tip about the pretzel! I didn't know about salt. So, I've seen people say they feed them pretzels and crackers, do they get unsalted ones?

Molting or Dead?

@jg, iodine is a necessary element for all life on earth including hermitcrabs table salt is harmful because of the anti-caching ingredients often used which are toxic to crustaceans.

I can't decide if he's just shy or still recovering. I've been taking the bottle top out when I'm around to watch, but he never ventures to explore. He has turned himself around and back. Just now Krabbie Patty aka Troublemaker went over to him and he tucked in to his shell so KP started trying to dig in at him. I moved KP and put the bottle back around Krusty because I was afraid he would get hurt, but I don't want to keep him isolated longer than he needs to be.

No way! My crabs love popcorn the most! I get organic popcorn with coconut oil on it from HCA. I would be afraid reg popcorn would have bad stuff on it. I'm guessing if you give your crabs treats like pretzels or crackers keep it to a min. Maybe rinse the salt off?

I have some Orville kernals and I just threw a few in a paper bag in the micro and listened for them to pop (took awhile) and they loved it! Hopefully that's a safe product?

I don't know there's probably varying opinions on it. Check the ingredients. I was just assuming there might be some additives in boxed popcorn that might not be that good for anybody (humans or crabs).
