1) How long have you had your crabs and how long have you been caring for this particular crab in distress?Two weeks now for all 32) What size is your tank and what kind of lid do you have?Ten gallons with a mesh lid, I have a moist towel laid over it to keep the humidity stable. A Kritter Keeper for ISO and an empty 5 gallon.3) What are you using for heat? Please be specific and include fixture type, watt or mat size and where the heat source is mounted.Tank back side, small rectangle, watts not labeled on it. 5 gallon now has the square heat pad, but neither are in use.4) What kind of substrate do you use in your tank and at what depth? Is it dry or damp and sand castle consistency?Coconut fiber (the stuff that comes in bricks, Eco-Earth or something like that)and it's nice and wet.5) Do you dechlorinate your fresh water and if so, with what product? Do you offer aquarium salt water in addition to fresh water? Again, what product?Yes, with Instant ocean conditioner, I make the salt water with instant ocean salt6) What do you normally feed your crabs?A mix of dried fruit, coconut, peanuts, seeds, rice, freeze-dried bloodworms and shrimp, and some Cheerios. I tried some carrots but no one seemed to care for them.7) Do you bathe, mist or handle your crabs at all?Yes,I handle all 3 of them. What are the temperature and humidity readings? Please be specific and include high low fluctuations if you're aware of them.The main 10 gallon is around 73 degrees, over 80% humidity.Okay, so now that I have all three in the same tank, ALICE HAS GONE MISSING!There IS substrate that has been moved that I know for a fact I didn't do.Earlier today I had to refill the whole salt water bowl because all of it disappeared, along with half of the fresh water.Has anyone else had anything like this ever happen??? Are they taking turns to molt???I don't think I was stupid/distracted enough to set Alice outside the tank instead of inside after I handled him. But this is coming from a girl that has put silverware and a phone in the refrigerator so...yeah.Don't ask how because I don't even know how or why I did it!

More than likely they are going under the sub to distress and maybe even to molt. Molting can take a long time 2 weeks to 2 months depending on size of crab and how stressed it is. It is not suggested to handle crabs during the first month of getting them to let them adjust to the new environment. Check to make sure the sub isn't in your water bowls if it is touching the water in the bowls and the main sub it will wick all the water it can out of the bowls and over saturate the sub this can happen with sand or EE/coco fiber. You need the sub moist not soaking wet or it will mold on bottom.
