EE More At Risk for Mites?
I have just sand in my crabitat right now. I bought some EE with the intention of putting it in, but... with all the talk of mites, Im wondering if I shouldn't. Are my crabs more at risk (of infestation) with the EE. Anyone have mite problems with just sand? Any input?

EE More At Risk for Mites?
The mites that are harmful for the crabs don't care if you have EE or sand, they feed on the crabs. But other insects or mites, like springtails, booklice or mites feeding on plant matter, seem to prefer cocnut fibre substrate, probably because they can eat it. But those bugs don't harm the crabs and actually keep your tank clean. But using EE doesn't mean that your tank will be infested with bugs and there are people with bug problems who use sand.
