Just a funny thing

Post by Kermie16 » Fri May 06, 2016 9:51 pm

Since all of my molders have come up, it has been so much fun watching these guys explore their new environment! And it seems that since they all met yesterday, they have all picked out their own specific areas. Our Mike loved to climb the mobani wood we have in front of the salt water pool. It is also about maybe 7 inches away from the tank fan. Any time the fan comes on, he stops what he is doing and is as still as can be, feelers and all. I seriously think he enjoys the breeze! Lol! Very cool critters for sure :D

You're going to totally love him!! And to watch him explore the tat you've worked so hard on to make amazing for him and to watch him eat the healthiest foods you offered to him is going to be so much fun!! Pleas post pics of him and fun things he is doing

I watched one of our other hermies, Chime, last night. He is definitely our climber/dare devil/spiderman wanna-be!! He climbed out of his moss pit, straddled and pushed himself along the edge of the pit until he found one of my zip ties to the fan, held on to the zip tie, climbed onto the fan, straddled the side of the fan and slowly SLID down to the bottom of the fan (5 inch fan) until he could reach the food dish! Then he got down, had some bites of a raspberry, then went on his merry way!! It's like a free show every night! :) Hope all goes well with your molter!!!

They're so funny xD shelldon is fascinated with a piece of barnacle I /had/ in with the shells. She keeps dragging it into the moss with her. Im guessing shea the one that did it last night because she did it again this morning (about half an hour ago)

Its even funnier when you walk in on them in the middle of the night and they're all clinging to some upright driftwood, taking turns sitting at the top of it xD it still amazes me that these are considered 'throw away pets'
-------
2 small pp, smeegle (m), shellshock (m); 1 small/medium pp, shelldon (f), 1 medium/large pp, Godzilla (m)
1 dog, bender the min pin. And one betta named Henry. I dont know if its a boy or a girl, its still pretty young.

So cute!! My daughter and I have been babying our hermies ever since we got them. The more we learn about them, the more frustrated and upset we get about other hermies living in harmful, unloving homes :( She and I have talked about possibly adopting more. But for right now, in our 20 g tank, we feel our hermies now r obviously happy and healthy and adding any more to our tank would not be beneficial to their lives. In the mean time we have been talking to friends and family educating them about hermit crabs. :crabblush: Love watching what mischief they r up to! Lol!

I definitely will post pics when I catch him doing things!! Hopefully one day soon I'll get to upgrade to a 20gal with a little more toys and such, along with 2 more buddies. Right now I've decided to wait til he surfaces then get him at least one buddy (currently have 10gal).
Plus I'm ready to see what foods he will enjoy since I just recently got my order from Hermie's Kitchen.

That sounds so funny to watch! I would've had no idea they could be such daredevils!Image
