Iso vs Non-Iso?

Post by Kermie16 » Tue May 31, 2016 5:19 am

Just recently 2 out of 3 of my hermies have started digging. These 2 molted around the same time the first time around so maybe they are planning to molt together again. I'm wondering if it would be best to Iso one or both in my 10 gallon tank or would it be just fine or maybe better and less stressful for them to keep them in the main tank? I keep my 10 gallon on standby with sub for possible emergencies anyways.

 I found out isolation is the best way to protect your crab when molting. Just a tip ...instead of isolation tank ,I used plexy glass and cut out the exact fit for dividers that fit in the tank they are in. I first find out where the molting crab is located and place the divider in. I then rearrange food and water. Its so much easier. I have been using them now for several years and no problems.

Hi! If your tanks are properly set up there is no reason to isolate a healthy molter. It's best to leave them alone and let them do what comes naturally.
