Bubbler/air valve questions?

Bet you thought you were done with me and my obvious questions on bubblers... Sorry, I get confused easily.

I was wondering where an air valve connects on the tubing? Also, for those of you with screen/grated lids, how did you feed the piping into the tank?

Edit: Also, if you have specific links to cheapest places/best quality in any aspects of the bubbler, please share!! I think I'm already going w/ the Tetra Whisper Air Pump, but any other tips would be great.

I got everything off of Amazon. I think my airstones were like 12 for a dollar.

I got a package of T connectors as well.

I was going to take a picture then realized that I was borrowing the pump for the marine crab tank till I get paid and can order another pump.

I like this Aqua Culture 5-15 gallon pump from Walmart: it works well, is quiet and was inexpensive.

Oh, cool, that is a lot cheaper! Do you know if there is a general size of piping that fits these air pumps? Like, in diameter?

Any aquarium tubing should fit.
