Wood from outside

Post by Jenajl » Wed Jun 29, 2016 5:04 pm

Hi! What does everyone think about wood from outside? I live in western mass. I feel like I've read something on this topic before but I can't find anything or remember what I read. Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks :)

Needs to be on the Safe List and free of any insecticides.

Some bake at 250°F for a couple of hours. You can also freeze the wood or leaf litter. We freeze ours for a few days.

I soak my oak branches in the marine salt water mix (I use Instant Ocean) at the same strength used for the crabs water. Then I allow it to air dry.
