Digital gauges don't last long

About 3 months ago, I bought two digital heat/humidity gauges; one from Home Depot and one from Lowes.

The one from Lowes in my 40 gallon breeder tank is currently reading humidity at 4% and temperature at 82F. The one in my 55 gallon tank shows the humidity at 89% and the temperature at 182F.

My old, cheap analog gauges show that the heat and humidity in both tanks are around 85% humidity and temperature around 82F.

Sigh. Three months are both are kaput.

I hear ya I haven't had much luck with digitals.. My all living things analog is on the money 4 digitals have been way off

Have you tried acurite yet? Those aren't perfect since they're not meant for pet purposes; but mine has lasted around a year.

The one currently reading 182 degrees F is an Acurite.

I tried accurate i bought 2 one was broke out of the box and the other calibrated off. I tried another probe one 2 of them both calibrated correctly but reas 99 % for humidity. While my analog which was spot on in the salt test reads 80/85

This is why I'm looking into one with a probe, the thought of them breaking from the moisture in the crabitat scares me.

The probe for me reads WAY too high i tried 2 and both of them read 99 % no matter where i dangle the probe. So far analogues seem to work the best for me and be the most accurate.

Also wanna mention they were calibrated correctly and read 75 percent after 24 hours salt test. I think their just too sensitive for correct humidity readings in a super humid setting. My analog reads 85 also passed the salt test. The acurite should be called acuwrong
