As you know, crabs can be super stealthy and very often visit their food and water sources when no one is around, i.e., in the middle of the night. While you may not see them bathing/soaking in the FW and SW, they do "drink" by dipping their leg tips in the water and then bringing the tips up to their mouth. Just a few questions, though: how large are the pools? Hasvethe FW & SW been dechlorinated? What dechlorinator do you use? What SW treatment?

Hermit crab patch sells oceanic and instant ocean the sell i think a bag of oceanic that makes 5 gallons or bagged one gallon of either oceanic or instant ocean so I'm assuming your using either of those brands ? If so your good to go

I just wanted to clarify that any dechlorinater listed here http://www.hermitcrabassociation.com/ph ... hp?t=92553 should be fine. Make sure you choose one that will remove the impurities from your water type. Read the sticky, and it elaborates. :) Just want to make sure people know they don't JUST have to buy Prime. There are also a few brands of salt to choose from as well. IO is just the most popular- I believe it's the cheapest.

I rarely see my crabs drinking or bathing in the FW but I do know they are very sneaky and they often have wet legs!

They no like larger animals like dogs where you can notice half the bowl has "evaporated". At most, crabs probably drink a few milliliters (teaspoons) at a time, it's not something that we can notice. But like others said, if you have dechlorinator and proper salt - which sounds like you do :D - you're good to go, most likely they doing it when you're not around! If you want, try and observe them at 11pm - 3am and you might see them drink, but most don't stay up all night and can understand if you don't want too! :)
