Yes, both FW and MSW are deep crocks. I'm think about adding needlepoint ramps. I've never seen anyone actually get in, but they love to hang out with their legs dangling in the water from the side. In the picture, one was shallow but it was the food dish. I've replaced it. Thanks for asking.GotButterflies wrote:Beautiful tank! I can't tell by your picture, but are your bowls deep enough for them to submerge in? Mine love their moss pit as well. I'm glad your hc's are doing well!!

Re: New Crabitat
And... I never see 3 of my crabs any more. Two upgraded shells, one of whom (brownie) lives in the moss hammock. Alien dug down on 8/7 and hasn't been seen since (he just molted before the move to the new tank). Stripes digs every day and apparently only comes out between midnight and 5 am. Only good old annoying Dora is out by 10 pm every day eating and running around.
Apparently they are comfy cozy in their new home.

Re: New Crabitat
Everyone is in natural shells now except Alien who molted all of June-July and went back down 8/7 in the new tank. Stripes is down in a beat up natural green turbo. I only know because she dropped her painted shell and that one is missing, haven't seen her since. Hope Alien comes up healthy and picks a turbo or pica!

Re: New Crabitat
Stripes just came back up in the unpolished turbo, Dora molted last and has been up for 2 weeks. I haven't seen Alien or Brownie since the tank change.
The two who are up have been rambling around in the now dry oak leaves.
I added another level of all moss using a locker shelf since they seem to like it so much .

Nice! I hadn't realized the oak leaves were real.

Re: New Crabitat
So, Alien (who was down all summer and the crab I've had longest) hasn't been seen since the first week of thiuus tank. So 4.5 months. Brownie, the jumbo pictured in September hasn't been seen since. Dora and Stripes are finally up and eating, tearing up the 2nd level of moss (not pictured).
I feel like I upgraded their habitat and lost my pets, since I never see them any more!
