Re: Moss
Beaked is popular, but spagnum & frog moss are good too.... just don't get crafting moss from arty type stores, because it's very likely goin to have had anti-bug or fungicide stuff sprayed on it.... bad for crabs.
But any moss from a pet store ought to do. (Frog moss is shorter and comes in clumps, whereas beaked and sphagnum are longer and look very nice.)
Zilla, Zoomed. ... Reptile and herptological catering companies sell safe moss. You can even order it online, it comes in boxes or bags.

Re: Moss
A good way to obtain cheap sphagnum moss is from Home Depot. I was recommended this: http://www.homedepot.com/p/Mosser-Lee-4 ... /202745057

This is what I get too. It's a little browner and stemmier than the pet store mosses, but it's 1/10 the cost; and it's organic.PinchersAndShells wrote:A good way to obtain cheap sphagnum moss is from Home Depot. I was recommended this: http://www.homedepot.com/p/Mosser-Lee-4 ... /202745057

Moss
Exo Terra Forest Plume Moss, 7 Quarts, 2-Pack https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001B5DKN2/re ... 4xb89HBJR3
This is what I ordered. $6 for a 2-pack. I've barely even scratched the surface of how long it will last me. Holds moisture extremely well! Crabs won't stay out of it!

Will this work? I see sheet moss used for other reptiles, not sure if it is the same thing. Nice pretty green

I was just there looking at that. They also had sheet moss which looks suspiciously like the frog moss I paid 3x as much for 1/4 the amount.PinchersAndShells wrote:A good way to obtain cheap sphagnum moss is from Home Depot. Re: Moss
I wish more people knew about it! I just got a big bag of Hiawatha Green Moss for $8.00. That's okay because I'll have plenty to go around for awhile, and I plan on using it in the isopod's habitat when I finally get around to doing that.Brian_T wrote:I was just there looking at that.
