Out doing an estimate and this little guy came running across the road!


6-8 in long...
I knew i had to get a pic but i was so scared of him! When i finally talked myself out of the truck (about 5 mins) i jumped out ran around took the pics and ran back and jumped in. He knew he'd beat me up to cause when he ran across the road and hit the grass and saw me stop he waited for me to get out when he saw me he boaed up. When i got back in the car and the threat was gone he scurried off! He was not playin wavin that pincher around either!

But isn't he beautiful! I had no idea that land crabs could live in soil burrows as well as sand burrows (they can and do). Where were these pics taken?

Im in jacksonville fl. These were taken in Marsh Landing! Which literally in the middle of the marsh (whole development will be swamp in 10 yrs). I could NOT beleive it! Talking myself out of the truck to take the pic though

Maybe I've had crabs too long..but I think he is sooo cute! I mean look at those lil eyes and those cute lil meany pinchers. Bah. Thanks for sharing! Wish we had crabs in Kneebraska but nooooooo just cows. lol

Lol not really, there's so much agriculture here I can't use any of the plants outside. We have all these trees and stuff in our yard, but there's a cornfield a block a way and I'm terrified the pesticides seep to our yard so I only purchase my leaf litter and such. The steak here, however, is excellent! Lol
