That is not a good sign. That means that Gary is interested in his friend's shells. This can lead to shell fights. A good place to get a bunch of cheap shells is Michaels and Joannes.
Gary is a punk, really. I added the substrate last night, added a bunch of new shells I got from the shopping links on here, and Yeti( previously known as yet to be named) was trying out shells randomly. Any shell he took an interest in, Gary would push him away and try it out his self. Gary finally switched shells and I took out his old shell immediately because it was painted and chipped and cracked. He seems stressed out more. Should I put his old shell back in? I thought Gary was molting yesterday as he dug down as soon as there was sub in the tank, but he came back up two hours later. Does that mean it's not most enough? How do I know I fixed it right?

Remember he's used to being in a huge colony of crabs that all have to compete for food, shelter, and to live- especially at the pet store. Sometimes it takes a while I'm good conditions for them to realize they don't have to fight for what they need. He should settle down with time. Shove fights and antenna wars are normal. He wants to be dominant crab. Lol The only time you have to worry is when a crab is trying to rock out another from it's shell, or actively reaching Into another's shell with their claw.

Looks a bit more like dried lichen?... I'd steer clear of decorative mosses because they've possibly been treated with a fungicide if they're meant to prettily embellish the decor in your home. Garden or petstore seems a better bet.

It looks like they are rocking them, but they are trying to shake them out of the shell. You'll know if you see this behavior, as the one will have ahold of the others shell, moving them violently.

I personally only use sphagnum moss for my hermies. I don't know about reindeer moss. If I ever have to question something, I'd play it safe and error on the side of caution and say probably not a good idea.

What should I do if they get in a fight? Do I break it up or let it go on?

If you witness a shell fight usually putting them in the fw dish would break it up... It shouldn't really happen if there are an adequate number of shells in the tank though.
