After waiting 45 minutes for her to change shells, I helped her into a new one. I surrounded her with 4 shells (including her old one) and honey with egg shells mixed into it. Is this okay? I forgot the water, I'll add that in. She is isolated in the main tank with a Tupperware over her but I am in the process of getting a soda bottle!

I helped her into a new shell because the Admins of the FB told me to do so after 45 min! She was very cooperative and even uncurled her her tail for me <3

I personally think I would like the Soda bottle better, keeps the other crabs from getting her, and provides air exchange. The Tupperware does give her darkness if it is dark in color. Interesting. No air flow that way though...(imo)

Thank you for asking! Last night, I saw her drink some water. She is still isolated with shells, honey/egg shells, and water around her. This morning, she was in last night's same position - she hasn't retreated into her shell at all and I noticed her eyes were close together.

When I got home from work, I found that although she has not moved from her position at all, she did not get out of her shell! I have now partitioned the main tank with a piece of plexiglass pushed all the way down so that she has her own section complete with a moss pit, salt water pool, fresh water drinking bowl, lots of shells, cholla wood, and coco hut. She is inside the coco hut, to which I put some spaghnum moss in as well, and she is grabbing onto the moss. I can't tell if she is eating it or not, but she is barely making any movement. I also put in some THCP goji berry/honey/coconut milk treat. Her eyes were dazy, close together which makes me think she might try to pull a surface molt?

Try to keep the area as dark as possible, as that will help the molting hormone. Waiting is you can really do at this point, really hoping the little one pulls through. I would keep things as dark and quiet as possible for her in case she is about to surface molt as that will help release Ecdysone (the molting hormone) and give her the best chance possible.

When you brought her home you mentioned she was eating like crazy, so I hope she is just going to surface molt. I agree with Rawrgeous in trying to keep it dark and stress free. Good luck! Please keep us updating! I'll keep praying for her! Image ❤️ ]️Image

Hi GotButterflies! Nina is a tough cookie! She's still in isolation, and in the shell I helped her into. She is surrounded by her old shell and with about 8 more, but she hasn't expressed any interest in them. She doesn't move much... She stays within a 1 inch radius of the same spot, rotating her body to either face the food dish or the heater. I havent seen her drink water. I am hoping that this lethargy or lack of movement is due to her destressing. There are no signs of her trying to dig...
