Re: Crab on the hamster wheel
I'm very excited!!!! Tonight I walked into the room that my crabs are in to get something and I saw the wheel moving! I called my family in to witness it, and I even FaceTimed my mom! Super cool!! So glad I put this together! Ty @mlakers for the idea! Glad I went with the large wheel to ~ lots of room. The crab kept walking, then would step out onto the pine cone, take a break, then step back in and walk again!! We are headed to a baseball game, will try to tape tomorrow night, I'm exhausted from staying up late last night!

Re: Crab on the hamster wheel
I'm going to make a second wheel tomorrow. Another crab is showing interest, but the jumbo is claiming the wheel! Have a great night everyone ~ I'm off to bed!

Are you making the wheels without going out and buying an actual hamster wheel? If so, please share! I really want to make one

I'm seriously jealous of your set up, I think I have said that a few times lol. I wish I had room to get a big tank how did you hang it?

Re: Crab on the hamster wheel
Thanks Kieagcarm! One of these days you'll get there! . I used a command hook with the command Velcro like strips that hold up to 16lbs. Here is a short video clip, my crabs don't like to be watched, lol! Unfortunately my phone doesn't pick them up with the moon light. https://vimeo.com/191092623kieagcarm wrote:I'm seriously jealous of your set up, I think I have said that a few times lol. Re: Crab on the hamster wheel
Ok. I'm going to have to try this too! So looks like u just put the whole thing in upside down with the base hanging on the edge of the tank. Is that right? Is there like a hole or something on the back of the wheel where u hang it with the command hook that u mentioned?

Re: Crab on the hamster wheel
Wondering if anyone has tried the hamster flying saucer as another option instead of the wheel?? I'm thinking of trying one or the other in our tat but wasn't sure if anyone had tried the saucer with the crabbies?

Re: Crab on the hamster wheel
I considered the flying saucer, but I think it would be very easy for the hermit to walk right off of it, where the modified hamster one they can keep going, and they can get off of it as well. I'm curious if it would work though...kieagcarm wrote:I was wondering the same thing.
