Hobbit Hole
I've been working on the ultimate "look" I want my tank to have (I'm a bit of what my aunt refers to as a "whack job") and I've settled on the idea of a fairy garden, but....for crabs. None of my guys have gone underground yet, so I've been trying to work fast in case that day comes soon.
Today, my wonderfully patient friend dutifully followed me around and helped me brainstorm how to accomplish this and really, being a big LotR fan, how to get a hobbit hole in there.
So here's the final product and a photo of my tank in general. Next step is to build a crab-friendly (wide enough) bridge to cross between the two water pools. Then I might finally be satisfied for awhile...

It is (purchased from an organic farmer)! I had another that I had cut open so they could eat out the guts, and they did a little, but it was molding within 48 hours, so that one found its way to the trash quickly.Kermie16 wrote:Beautiful!! Is the pumpkin real?

Well the fairy garden idea was a beautiful pipe dream. But of course, the hobbit hole has been filled with soil (though magically the door has stayed put), the moss on top has been pulled all over the place, stone facade is knocked off daily and I've basically learned that it's just not going to be perfectly "pretty". Those destructive lil stinkers.
