Making a shiv
Cleaning the rank this morning and went to move their cuttlebone and noticed this. I think my crabs are planning to kill me. Mostly don't by Herman.

Thats so funny. I have a half of cuttle bone in and all four of mine have left it alone.

Re: Making a shiv
Well mine has been in for awhile and at first they were barely messing with it. Them Herman came up and turned it into a shiv

Re: Making a shiv
This is what it looks like this morning. Is it a bad thing that one crab is eating so much calcium

I doubt it's something to worry about. They eat what they need when offered a good variety. It is also very possible the others are helping when you aren't observing.

Possible. They do a lot of moving around when I'm asleep. Every now and then their she'll bangs on the glass waking me up but I try to leave them alone at night so I don't actually observe them. I just assume it's Herman because before he came up there was only tiny nibbles being taken.

Re: Making a shiv
I know. My crabs are always doing the weirdest things. Like I put a hibiscus flower in once and they ignore it. Put it on a different day and they eat some of it. They are just very weird.
