Do you offer calcium sources at all times? (Cuttlebone, eggshells, oyster shell, calcium carbonate)

Well today he was all the way out of the shell and there was definitely a smell.
And yes I offer calcium stuff.

Another stab in the dark - I wouldn't be surprised if he had contracted a parasite at some point. What many people don't realize is the prevalence of these kinds of creatures in the wild. I often wonder how many cases of PPS are the result of hidden biological cargo... though transport conditions are certainly horrid & don't help.
We can never know, obviously. But many strange or unaccountable behaviors in insects and other invertibrates are in fact the result of chemical secretions from parasites that have evolved impressively complex interactions with their host species.
Not much consolation, I'm sure, but something to consider.
