Great idea! Did you use silicone caulk to bind them? Also what are dimensions of the containers?EadvEnturEs wrote:

A little mockup of the siphon pipe cage thing. I'll get the exact size down later and wrap it in sisal twine so it isn't so ugly.
Water bowls just need to cure!

For real! Bigger is always better. And the false bottom is to provide a place for excess water to go without flooding the sub. The PVC at the back left is for siphoning it out when it pools.Just Jay wrote:hahah must be build fever! looks amazing and thats a great deal! i might go bigger than what i was thinking for my own upgrade.

Re: 65G Build for 3 Es - Back in the Game!
Thanks! Yes, 100% silicone without any anti-mold agents (<$5 at Home Depot). The containers are from a 2 for $0.88 pack at Walmart. They hold five cups and are about 6.5 x 4.75 x 3.75". I got two packs so I have the base bowls that stay in the sub, and the water bowls sit in those so that I can move them and do water changes without disturbing anyone that might have decided to dig close by.agentcrabby wrote:Great idea! awesome i assumed so but a coworker (i work for a feed, garden and pet supply so i have coworkers that mention things that might help my crabs all the time.) he did something to mock a beach. so i wanted to make sure. the silicon you used was it easy to store after or just a toss when done?

That sounds cool. I like the idea, but it isn't something I'm willing to try anytime soon. Maybe in the future with a larger tank!Just Jay wrote:awesome i assumed so but a coworker (i work for a feed, garden and pet supply so i have coworkers that mention things that might help my crabs all the time.) he did something to mock a beach. so i wanted to make sure. the silicon you used was it easy to store after or just a toss when done?
And it's super easy. I got the 10 oz one so you need the gun for it, and you just re-puncture it every time you want to use it. Not messy to store at all. I got the one on the left.

niiiice. ive been trying aquarium grade and it doesnt store. period. i didnt like the idea because it does easily divide SW from FW and will always wick moister into the sub. im sure with some changes it could be divided but im not there yet.

Everything is stuck in place where I want it (Ultratherm, false bottom, etc.).
Also got my vines in the mail.
Tomorrow I'll start buying things for the sub. (:
