Found a great new heat pad!

Post by hermitharbor » Fri Oct 28, 2016 8:53 pm

So I was in a pinch and had to buy a heat pad for my Es, and beanfarm was down and I needed one asap--so I went with a brand that looked good and I could use my Amazon Prime with and get quickly.

I found an Aiicioo UTH and so far, it's working fantastic! Mid 80s with no insulation. Is lightweight as well, and it does stick so no tape is necessary. The size I got was nice for me and the length of my 29g and the depth of substrate I had (it was an 8x18). It was also a good price! They have different sizes and wattages available.

So I just wanted to say what a great UTH this is, and I definitely recommend it!

Here is the link to it if anyone is interested:

Yes, DrssageQueen! Would love an update to see how you're still loving the UTH!

I was looking at those but had never heard them mentioned, got a gut feeling to order it but was afraid. I'm gonna try it, I'm really not into insulating, my step dad is a firefighter and is totally against the idea of insulating. I ordered an ultratherm and can't ever put it up due to his not allowing the insulation. (Currently and temporarily living with my parents)

Hey guys!

It's still working fabulously, no complaints here! I don't personally insulate my UTHs since I use them in conjunction with a lamp (daytime only) and keep my door closed most of the time so my room is fairly warm. It helps keep the E tank at 90 during the day and around 81 at night. I may buy another for the other tank because my zoomed one keeps peeling off on one side and it's annoying the heck out of me. Anyway, I say go for it!

I'd replace the peeling zoomed as soon as convenient. I had that happen on my geckos tank, and to my alarm, the twisting of the element caused the heater to malfunction & melt where it connected with the cord. Not optimal. :?

Found a great new heat pad!

Oh wow, that's not good! I have it duck taped to try and keep it flat (that's what we have been arguing about, it doesn't want to stick even with the tape, lol!) but I will be replacing it soon. Thanks for the heads up!

Dressage- I have a 20g tall, will the one you have fit on the back of mine without touching the sub, in having trouble figuring this out

Edit: it will fit it's the same size I have now, but I was wondering what it keeps your temps at

I don't know the dimensions of a tall, but I measured mine just to double check before I bought anything :) It keeps it nice and toasty in there for the Es at 90 (with the help of a lamp) during the day, and 80 or more at night on its own. It's a good little pad!
