Yes, but only when I'm home and only in my room. Not at night because it would drive me crazy. I leave a couple water dishes around in case. As long as we are talking PPs because they can handle being out of the tank for a bit, and I wouldn't recommend this if your crabs are really small. I don't do it as much in winter though because of the temp. They usually keep to themselves and find a dark corner under the dresser to hang at. But I only have two crabs right now.
You've got it all wrong....we are the pets, not them!

My two oldest crabs have been in my care for 9 years. I don't handle them or let them out to free range at all.
