Two questions, pls:EadvEnturEs wrote:
1. What did you put on top of the eggcrate to separate the substrate from going through?
2. How are you siphoning excess water under the false bottom? I know its through the PVS, but how? Are you using a pump? Or, just sucking through an airline tube?

The eggcrate is wrapped in weedblock, then I siliconed plastic crosstitch mesh to the top, entirely covering it. The weedblock is for the sub, and the mesh is to keep the crabs from picking at it.

Sucking it through airline tubing, just like cleaning a fish tank the old-school way. I'm keeping an eye out for excess moisture, and syphoning it every six months just to be sure.
Hope that helps!
