my crabs are in a 45 gal right now, but i've recently acquired a 160 gal, i'm just not allowed to set it up until i move out.

Whelp, I bought a 75 to replace my 55 and I am picking up a 125 on a stand with 13 resident crabs (2 straws, 3 e's, 2 ruggies, 1 viola and the rest pp's) in early March. I think my front living room is going to become the crab room...

I'm torn on whether or not to keep the 40B or upgrade it or transfer the contents to the 55. I like the foot print of the 40B a lot better. I wonder what else will fit on that stand....

They are amazing. If they weren't so dam hard to find - and expensive, $20 each! - then i would have more. Roughly my oldest is around 3-4 year old, I've honestly lost count.

It was around the time I was in yr 9 or 10, and his little group were pretty large sized, so I assume he is probably approaching more 6-7 years of age. Great fishes, the hardest part about them is to get them settled. Once they settled, large - or frequent - waterchanges have given me the most success.

$20 each?! Whoa. I knew I was spoilt, living in Toronto (fish are especially inexpensive here), but I had no idea they could cost that much. I mean... I guess it's because you're in Australia. But wow.

They're a $3 fish here. You can buy like, ten, and get them for about 1.50 ea in some places.

My eldest rummy is going on about six years. I find them to be remarkably long lived. I don't really know any fish people, an I'm trying to figure out what the upper limit for them is... just out of curiosity.

I am using a 55g for 4 crabs. I have a 10g iso. The tanks i am not using are a 10g 20g and 150g

Ooh... I would love a 150. Is it inoperative because of space restrictions, or just because there's only the 4 crabs?

No it works just fine. We just moved into a smaller place as soon as I got it and I dont have the space, or frankly the money, for that project at the moment. Its never been used and is for sale PM me if your interested.

Most fish here are overprice. Its Australia, importation doesn't work out to be cheap at all! In fact, aquarium hobbies - and to a degree, crabbing - is relativity expensive to start up, in aus you're looking over $200 to start out - with fresh supplies... A 10g fish tank can easy cost around $70-100 brand new, excluding supplies and stands.

Well, that's how much it costed me. I live in FL and definitely spent over 200 on my crabs initial setup and around 100 on my 10 gal fresh water fish tank.
