Florida shell shops

This is where you discuss shells for your hermit crabs. Not for selling/swapping shells, use Classified Ads for that.

Post by Visual » Mon Mar 20, 2017 11:09 pm

Idk if there is a pinned list somewhere but I will be headed to fla soon for spring break and I want to pick up some shells while there. Are there any fla locals out there? Anyone recommend any good shell shops to hunt at? I need a variety of med to large sizes, I've got such a mixed bag of crabs!ill be in the Pensacola area for about a week.

Take a trip to st aug while you're here in fl. The post you commented the emoji on which is labeled 'My new haul ' under the shell section gives you the address for gps and the number in case you get lost. Plus you get to see st aug of course.

Lol Kayedee, Pensacola is about 5/6 hours away from St Augustine Image I'm not familiar with the Pensacola shell shops, I'm sorry! I know we have a member here that lives in that area, I saw it under Fl adopters I think. You could try private messaging them. Also, a lot of gift/souvenir shops have shells :)

It's worth the trip! God's gift to crabbers! Literally not a shell or size you can't find!

In that case, then, drive to Lakeland to Richard's Shells...they literally have everything. LOL

St Augustine would be so much closer to us but another 5-6 hr drive on top of what we will be driving to get to fla from ky just isn't an option. I'm glad to see you ladies so passionate about your shell shops.

Are you going to Pensacola beach or gulf shores? Just curious, I'm new to crabbing and I live next to Pensacola Beach but haven't had a chance to go looking outside of chain retailers.

oh if it's where I think it's about two hours from Pensacola, the entire coast is beach towns so there's most likely local shell shops near the beaches

Well, we are here and it's Sana Rosa Beach really near Destin. I've hit the usual tourist traps and have picked up a few but I'm looking for better options.

That really is a jackpot. I've been meaning to go in there and check it out. I'll definitely have to head there after work.
