That sounds pretty awesome. Just keep in mind that the crab per 5g doesn't apply because you will have limited molting space.

I was thinking of that today... I wonder if I could add in a separate above level tank with extra sub?Hermiearth wrote:That sounds pretty awesome. Just keep in mind that the crab per 5g doesn't apply because you will have limited molting space.

That is where it gets tricky, with the weight of the sub it is hard to make sure it won't break a support system. It is doable though.

I think that sounds awesome! Talk to someone in the hardware department at home depot and tell them how much weight you need it to hold, they'll do the shopping for yaVisual wrote:I was thinking of that today... It's deffinetly do-able! Less chance for molting aggression!

I'm planning on having the back mostly free of obstruction so they can get natural sunlight during the summers.

I'm a newbie, but I can't wait to see how this turns out! I'm especially interested in seeing the waterfall setup, I'd love to set one up myself but have no idea how. I'm sure your crabs will love their new crabbie paradise!
Re: Building a Crabby Paradise
Awesome! Thank you your interest. I'll try and post more photos of the waterfall process. I'm excited to get to that part honestly. I'm no carpenter. I'm not sure...I know a lot of reptile cages are made with plexiglass- but perhaps you could call reptile basics or the bean farm and ask?

Natural sunlight is AMAZING! Where my crab tank is they get a nice sunlight trickle through the window during early day to start of mid day. I've caught Jack hanging out in it before hahaVisual wrote:I'm planning on having the back mostly free of obstruction so they can get natural sunlight during the summers.

Re: Building a Crabby Paradise
It should hold up... but if it's a cheap grade or thin I imagine it would bow or bubble.... I would personally test it out beforehand or look into getting a CHE which would do a day of this size beautifully IMO.

Haha I'm a dope I should have thought of that. I'll call The Bean Farm tomorrow. Excellent suggestion and thank you for reminding me.GotButterflies wrote:I'm not sure...I know a lot of reptile cages are made with plexiglass- but perhaps you could call reptile basics or the bean farm and ask?
