Building a Crabby Paradise

Post by GotButterflies » Tue May 02, 2017 2:05 pm

Neat!

Edit: do you realize eventually you will need to take pump apart to clean it? Any underwater pump gets gunk buildup that can slow the speed of the fan down.

HAd a minor issue with my tubing yesterday that I finally got resolved last night. Thought I'd show everyone my simple fix for hiding the emergency drain and the water fall tubing. This is a large piece of cork bark. Basically held in place with tension for easy removal in case repairs or cleaning is needed.

Yay! I'm finally getting to decorate! Here's a little bit of the process. I've added a natural branch, more to come... and here's a weird find. A moss mat usually used for model village sets. It's moss on a mesh screen sheet. I'm also using coco fiber to hide my man made branch that runs the length of the tank. It was made with rolled expanded metal sheet.

Hmm, I'm thinking of adding two more bags of sand.

Looks good! Do you plan on covering all of the screen mesh? I was just wondering because I wouldn't expect it to stay nice and shiny in the humid environment + the salt.

I did end up covering all of the screen mesh. Some with cork bark and some with a moss sheet. And I have already changed my waterfall set up once since I've put it in. lol trial and error. I'm just gonna see if it works.
